Marshall Teague and the Hudson Hornet
February 11 was a major day for the vehicle and the driver. On that day in 1951, NASCAR driver Marshall Teague drove a Hudson Hornet to triumph in the 160-mile Daytona Grand National at Daytona Beach, Florida. It was a see of things to come for both. The Hornet had an inventive “venture down” skeleton plan, and lower focal point of gravity which improved dealing with. In 1951, the producer equipped the vehicle with a greater motor. The Hornet was a force to be reckoned with on the NASCAR circuit until 1955, when rule changes underscored strength over taking care of.
The Hudson Motor Company

On January 14, 1954, Hudson Merged with Nash-Kelvinator to become American Motors.
In the 2006 energized highlight, “Vehicles”, Paul Newman gave the voice to the character, “Doc Hudson”. Doc was once known as the Fabulous Hornet, with a record for the mosts wins-27-in a solitary season. His tag was 51HHMD.
Marshall Teague, who was known as the “Ruler of the Beach” for his races at his old neighborhood track, won seven NASCAR Grand National Races somewhere in the range of 1949 and 1952. Prior to the 1951 season, he made a trip to Michigan to Hudson, where he appeared without an arrangement. Before the finish of the visit, he had established the framework for a relationship with the organization that would make the vehicle and driver predominant in the circuit until 1953. Nine years to the day after his noteworthy race in the Hudson Hornet, on February 11, 1959, he was once again at Daytona. It would be his last run. Teague was killed attempting to set a shut court record in a reconfigured Indy vehicle at the recently opened Dayton Interantional Speedway. The test meeting was only preceding the April introduction of the USAC title in Indy-styled roadsters, and eleven days before the principal Daytona 500. Marshall’s demise disturbed Bill France so much that he never again held Indy-style hustling at the Daytona Speedway.
